Helping Hands Center For Obesity, Inc. (HHC4O) was founded in 2006, as a vision given to Ms. LaTasha Woods of Dallas, Texas. We are a nonprofit organization that targets the issues of childhood obesity. Helping Hands strives to educate the community about: Health and Wellness, Food Preparation, Nutritional Facts, Exercise, Physical and Mental Well Being, and Portion Control, encompassing the total family. Helping Hands is seeking to educate and promote the important message of the Let's Move! Campaign implemented by First Lady Michelle Obama. Our goal is to teach children to be well informed consumers as well as productive, healthy members of the community. We engage children in learning how to eat healthy with concepts that offer alternative food selections and physical activities that includes the benefits of exercise.

Helping Hands Center For Obesity, Inc. focuses on three components that advocates a healthy lifestyle in youths, teens and young adults.

I. Nutritional:

Our nutritional programmatic thrust targets food preparation, portion control, the effects of sugary drinks, creative ideas with meal planning label reading, benefits of vitamins agricultural and organic gardening. The impact of diseases and disorders are also covered under nutrition. Diseases associated with obesity include: diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease, head ache, high cholesterol, sleep apnea and periodontal disease.

II. Mental & Emotional:

Food is often used as a comfort refuge during stressful situations. HHC4O seeks to identify the causes of overeating. Mind, Body and Soul must be in alignment to make changes towards a healthier lifestyle. We instill a healthy philosophy and values and teach coping mechanisms.

III. Physical

Physical activity is a vital component in controlling weight. Our program demonstrates physical activities that provide enjoyment and challenge, encourages moderate to vigorous physical activities on a daily basis that cause increased heart rate, breathing rate, perspiration and muscle strengthening, enagages children in appropriate exercises for developing flexibility  and mind focus.
